Odisha and Chhattisgarh Festival with Tribal Tour

Itinerary

• Day 1 (07 Feb, 2024): Bhubaneswar

  Arrival Bhubaneswar and transfer to hotel in Bhubaneswar. Afternoon visit the tribal museaum, Khandagiri/udaygiri caves with sun set. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

• Day 2 (08th Feb, 2024): Bhubaneswar

  During morning visit temples of Bhubaneswar starting with heritage walk in old town of Bhubaneswar and Bindo Sagar also visit temples such as Lingaraj temple, Mukteswar/sidheswar temple, Rajarani temple (6-12^th century).  Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

• Day 3 (09th Feb, 2024): Joranda SADHU FESTIVAL

  

  Drive to Joranda to meet the Anam Sadhu famous for their austere and strict life, their monastery and evening enjoy their Mela (Festival of Anam holy men). Overnight stay at king’s palace.

• Day 4 (10th Feb, 2024): Joranda - KONARK - PURI

  

  During morning drive to Konark enroute visit 64 yogini temple, Dhauli Budhist stupa, pipli appliqué village and Konark world heritage site. After few hours in the temple back to the virgin beach of Konark and overnight stay at konark in a beach side hotel.

• Day 5 (11th Feb, 2024 : KONARK- RAGHURAJPUR - PURI

  During morning drive to Puri enroute visit Raghurajpur painting village, Puri local such as priest colony, around the Jagannath temple, fishermen village, pottery village with cycle rickshaw. Overnight stay at a beach side hotel in Puri.

• Day 6 (12th Feb, Mon): PURI- MANGLAJODI BIRD SANCTRY- BALIGUDA

  

  During early morning drive to Baliguda enroute visit manglajodi Chilika Lake where you will see a lot of migratory birds come from Siberia, Baltic Sea and Lake Baikal and Russia for their winter sojourn. Further drive to Baliguda for overnight stay.

• Day 7 (13th Feb, Tue): BALIGUDA

  

  During morning drive to Kotagarh weekly market of Kutia Kondh tribes (tattoo faced). After few hours in the market further drive to Rayagada enroute visit tribal villages. Overnight stay at Rayagada.

• Day 8 (14TH Feb, wed): RAYAGADA - JEYPORE

  

  During morning drive to Chatikona area to meet the primitive Dunguria kondh tribes in their weekly market where they sale their horticultural products in exchange take kerosene, dry fish, and chicken. Further drive to Jeypore enroute visit tribal villages. Overnight stay at Jeypore.

• Day 9 (15th Feb, Thu): JEYPORE – ONKADELI AND SEMILIGUDA MARKET

  During morning drive to onkadeli area to meet the most colorful primitive BONDA tribes in their weekly market and also visit other tribal people like Gadaba and Paraja Tribes and their village. Enjoy the sun set at Dumduma waterfall. Overnight stay at Semiliguda

• Day 10 (16th Feb, Fri) : SEMILIGUDA - KUNDLI MARKET - JAGDALPUR

  

  During morning drive to Kundli, the largest tribal market of Odisha state where you will meet Paraja, Rana and Malli tribes. After few hours in the market further drive to Jagdalpur enroute visit textile village at Kotpada. Overnight stay at Jagdalpur

• Day 11 (17th Feb, Sat) : JAGDALPUR

  

  Jagdalpur: Dhruwa Tribal village – Mardoom Market -Bastar palace: (Total 150kms): Morning visits the Dhurwa tribal villages. Dhurwa are a sub-group of Gond and have their own different style of house and living patterns. They live in small villages. Afternon visit Mardoom tribal market where lots of Dhruwa and Maria come to sold their different utility items. Evening at leisure. Overnight.

• Day 12 (18th Feb, Sun) : JAGDALPUR

  

  After breakfast, visit few Muria Tribal villages with their famous dance (Depending on Situation) and later visit craft village Kondagaon and Iron works village Kideichepra . Later proceed to jagdalpur. Check in Hotel and Overnight at Hotel.

• Day 13 (19TH Feb, Mon) : JAGDALPUR - KANKER

  Morning after breakfast visits few Maria tribal Villages and also visit famous Maria dance. Afternoon visit a weekly Tribal market. Later visit famous Kutabsar caves and Tirthagar Waterfall. Back to Hotel and Overnight stay.

• Day 14 (20th Feb: Rajim Kumbh mela (festival of Naga Holy Men)

  

• Day 15 (21st Feb): Rajim Kumbh Mela (festival of Nagar Holy Men)

  

• Day 16 (22nd Feb): Raipur Drop

  Tour price depends on no. of people. The festival date may change as the festival is fixed on lunar calander and tribal chief.
