Best Time to Visit Bhutan

The best time to visit Bhutan is during the spring month that is March to May as the valley comes alive with blooming of flower. The peak of Himalayan is at its best visit with clear sky. The month of October is best time for trekking as the temperature remain cold. June to Aug is considered the low season due to the heavy rain.

June to September is considered as the monsoon in Bhutan with heavy rain.

Permits and Visa in Bhutan

All international visitors need VISA to enter into Bhutan except citizens of India, Bangladesh and Maldives.

All international visitors need a valid passport and visa to enter and exit Bhutan. Visa for Bhutan are issued either at Paro airport or at Gelephu, Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jongkhar, if you are entering by road. 

All VISAS are approved in Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan and issued to tourists who have booked Bhutan travel with a local licensed tour operator, either directly or through a foreign travel agent.

Before travel to Bhutan, all visitors must obtain VISA clearance from capital Thimphu. The VISA clearance takes minimum ten days to process and without it, air tickets to Bhutan cannot be purchased in any way. Entry into Bhutan can be made upon payment of USD 40 while the procedure of stamping a visa into the passport by immigration authorities. Tourist visas are granted especially for the specific travel period.

  • Day 1: Pick up from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) & Transfer to Phuentsholling

  • Day 2: Transfer to Thimpu

    During morning after Breakfast, transfer to Thimphu by road which is nearly 6 Hours drive and approximately 172 kilometers from Phuentsholing town.   You can visit Water Falls & Natural Sightseeing, Chukha Dam (Top View) . Further check-In at Hotel – Overnight Stay at Thimphu

  • Day 3: Thimpu Local Sightseeing

  • Day 4: Excursion to Punakha & Transfer to Paro

Wangdue Phodrang is a town and capital (dzongkhag thromde) of Wangdue Phodrang District in central Bhutan. You will visit  Dochu la Pass,  Druk Wangyal Lhakhang  Punakha Dzong & Wangdue Phodrang,  Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, Transfer to Paro, Paro is Destination Of Scenic Beauty, The Only International Airport of Bhutan. It is around 4 Hours drive and takes approximately 143 kilometers from Punakha & Wangdue – Overnight Stay at Paro.

  • Day 5: Paro Local Sightseeing

    After Breakfast, visit  Drukgyal Dzong,  View of Taktsang Monastery,  Kichulanka Monastery,  Ta Dzong,  Paro Rinpung Dzong (Museum),  Nya-Mey Zam,  Dungtse Lhankhang,  Druk Choeding – In Evening: Stroll Through the Market of Paro – Overnight Stay at Paro.

  • Day 6: Transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB)

    During morning after Breakfast, Check-Out from Hotel, Proceed for Paro International Airport Sightseeing, Drop to Hasimara / Alipurduar / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) via Phuentsholing – It is around 6 Hours drive and takes approximately 175 Kilometers to Phuentsholing – Next forwarding Journey to Hashimara Railway Station (HSA) / Alipurduar Railway Station (APDJ) New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB)  – It is around  19 kilometers and  is  only 30 minutes drive – For Onward Journey
