Bastar Dussehra Festival with Tribal Tour

Itinerary

• Day 1 - 18 Oct: RAIPUR

  

  Arrival Raipur from Delhi/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Chennai and transfer to hotel.

  Arrival Raipur and visit local sight seeing tour . Overnight stay at Raipur.

• Day 2 - 19th Oct: JAGDALPUR

  

  Visit the colorful market for muria tribes and visit the spectacular chitrakoot waterfall.  Evening enjoy the Dashahra festivity. Overnight stay at Jagdalpur

• Day 3 -20th Oct: JAGDALPUR DUSHERA FESTIVAL

  Morning visit the Muria tribal villages. Then whole day enjoy the Dushera festival at Jagdalpur town. Overnight stay at Jagdalpur

• Day 4 - 21st Oct: JAGDALPUR – KOTAPAD-NANDAPUR-SEMILIGUDA

  Morning visit the tribal textile village of Kotapad, then visit the colorful weekly market at Nandapur and visit nice tribal villages. Overnight stay in a decent hotel at Semiliguda.

• Day 5 - 22nd Oct: EXCURSION TO BONDA MARKET

  

  Today visit the colourful weekly market of most interesting Bonda tribes. Also meet the other tribal groups of Gadaba, Didayi tribes. Overnight stay at Jeypore or Semiliguda

• Day 6 - 23rd Oct: SEMILIGUDA-KUNDULI- VISAKHAPATNAM DROP

  Visit the largest weekly market of Paraja, Mali tribes and also for cattle trade. Visit the pottery maker village and Paraja tribal village and afternoon drop at Visakpatnam .

  Note:  Tour can be extended as per the below program. Festival dates may change as it is mostly decided by the Lunar Calendar and the tribal chief of different tribes.

• Day 7 -24th Oct: JEYPORE – GUPTESWAR - JEYPORE

  During morning drive to Rayagada enroute visit tribal villages such as Desia Tribes and Saura tribes. Overnight stay at Rayagada.

• Day 8 - 25th Oct: JEYPORE - RAYAGADA

  

  During morning after breakfast drive to Puttasingh area to meet ethnically Lanjia Saura tribes and their villages. Walk in this peaceful village and witness the unique mud wall painting of saura tribes. On the way back, visit the Desia Kondh tribal village. Overnight stay at Rayagada.

• Day 9 – 26th Oct: BISSAM CUTTACK

  During morning drive to Chatikona area to meet the Desia Kondh tribes in their village, jwellery village etc. Further drive to Baligda for overnight stay.

• Day 10 – 27th Oct: RAYAGADA – MAJHIGUIDA- BALIGUDA

  

  During morning visit the weekly market of kutia kondh tribes. The kutia ladies are tattoo faced. You will enjoy the walk to several kuita villages and weekly market. Overnight stay in a basic hotel at Baliguda.

• Day 11 – 28th Oct: BALIGUDA – GOPALPUR ON SEA

  Enjoy the drive through beautiful valleys; hills and afternoon relax by the beach at Gopalpur on sea. Enjoy the leisurely walk and you may see the fishing activity. Overnight stay at Gopalpur on sea.

• Day 12 – 29th Oct: GOPALPUR – BHUBANESWAR

  

  During morning drive to Bhubaneswar enroute visit Mangaljodi bird sanctuary, Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves and tribal Mueuam. Afternoon visit temples of Bhubaneswar. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar

• Day 13 – 30th Oct: BHUBANESWAR - JORONDA SADHU - JWELLERY AND TEXTILE VILLAGE - JORONDA

  

  During morning drive to Joronda to see the jwellery making village and also meet the naked Anam sadhu in their monastery and their evening prayer.  Overnight stay at King’s Palace.

• Day 14 – 31st Oct: JORONDA LALITGIRI - UDAYGIRI BUDHIST SITE- RAGHURAJPUR - PURI

  During morning drive to lalitgiri/ratnagiri and udaygiri, the Budhist ruins and further drive to Puri enroute visit Raghurajpur painting village. If wish, we can arrange the folk dance GOTIPUA in Raghurajpur village. Overnight stay at Puri.

• Day 15 – 1st Nov: BHUBANESWAR - KONARK

  

  Visit Puri local sight seeing tour such as Priest colony around the Jagannath temple, fishermen village, Pottery village with cycle rickshaw and afternoon visit stunning sun temple and world heritage at Konark. Overnight stay in an eco resort along the sea in Konark.

• Day 16 – 2nd Nov: KONARK - BHUBANESWAR

  During morning drive to Bhubaneswar enroute visit Pipli applique village, Dhauli Budhist stupa, , 64 Yogini temple, Lingaraj, Bindo sagar, Vaital temple, Mukteswar,  /Parsurameswar, Rajarani temple. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

• Day 17 – 3rd Nov :

  Departure for Bhubaneswar to board the flight for your onward journey.
